In the summer of 2007 we organised our Church holiday in Quinta Hall, Oswestry. We had organised games, fellowship times, quizzes, bible studies, prayer & worship, a day trip to Barmouth beach as well as free time. Quinta Hall is a beautiful fifty-acre estate on the edge of the Welsh Hills in Oswestry.
It was so successful that we have been back every year since. The dates for Quinta 2010 are - Saturday 7th to Saturday 14th August 2010 inclusive.
Accommodation
We can offer two types of accommodation at Quinta this year.
Camping
On the field just around the corner from the main facilities. This is where the majority of the activities during the week will be based.
Holiday Lodges
Available for people who do not wish to camp but spaces are limited. Perry Lodge sleeps up to 13 people (6 twin rooms, 1 single) and Reed House sleeps up to 7 people (3 twin rooms, 1 single). Reed House will only be available if the demand is met early (May 1st). The Bungalows are finished to a high standard and offer domestic style accommodation for smaller groups. Duvets and bedding is provided.
Facilities
The lodges are fully equipped with all the necessary cooking and washing facilities which will be made available to both campers and lodgers. The showers inside the lodges will available to campers at certain times. There are toilets in the lodges which will be available to campers through the day and one of the toilets will be allocated to the campers during the night. The bedrooms are for the exclusive use of the families in the lodges and the lounge areas will be available to campers on request. Other facilities include a washing machine, microwave and TV with video/DVD. There is a shop in the local village and a large supermarket 4 miles away. The centre also has a small confectionary shop.
Food
This year we are providing food (already included in the price). A menu will be given out a month before the camp but if you have any special requirements please let Andy Hodson or Jane Cleeton know.
Fellowship
Each evening we will have a fellowship time with quizzes, Bible stidues and prayer & worship times (outdoors weather permitting). Darren always works hard at keeping us warm during the cooler part of the day with his wonderful camp fires which often are still burning into the night.
During the start of the day we will also hold a time for devotions together. This camp will be a great opportunity to get together and grow in God and love together as a Church.
This years theme will be- "The LIfe of Joesph"
Activities
The Camp has many activities available to us, these include basketball & tennis courts, a football pitch and volleyball courts. There is a small pool which we can use on request as well as a sports hall. We have exclusive use of a games room for table tennis etc. There are also walking tracks around the camp site.
Each day we will plan an organised activity for the whole camp as well as giving plenty of time over to free time. These will include rambles, challenges, group games as well as more sedate things for the more civilized of us.
We will also run activities for the children. We plan to have a day out somewhere localluy and will finish the day with a stop at the fish and chip ship which is not included in the price.
Bikes are welcome but be careful not to leave them and other valuables unattended.
